My first trip to the emergency room.

My first broken bone.

Ouch--who knew a finger could hurt this much?

Tell me about the first time you broke a bone... Misery loves company, right? :-)

Ouchie! I want details! I have also broken a finger. It hurts like hell. I fell off of our neighbor's zip line and got my pinky finger caught in the chain of the zip line of the way to the ground. Funny thing is. . my regular finger is crooked and my broken finger is now straight. I'll have to show you some time. Hope your finger heals fast. Do you get to wear a cool finger splint? We love you!

Oh man, you totally stole my thunder with already having a broken finger! Basically the backdoor of our house got slammed shut by the wind and crushed my finger. And yes, it totally "hurts like hell." My physician boss said that is because there is a concentrated amount of nerves in the fingers. So I got an x-ray and a splint named Freddie and some pampering by my husband.

Oh my, that looks mighty painful. That's the finger you need for lots of things too. Hope it gets better soon. I think I broke a toe and had to wear a slipper for a few weeks when I was growing up. Interesting bone facts from health class this past week: a baby has more bones than an adult because the skull plates haven't completely grown and fused together. When your bone cells regenerate, it takes about two years for your body to completely replace your skeleton. The three small bones in your middle ear would fit on your pinky fingernail. Most people will break a bone sometime in their lifetime. Average adult skeleton weighs about 30 pounds.
