An update on Bart and his awesomeness:

Bart has been working hard at his new job and really enjoying it. In addition to learning the ropes at a new place and working in TWO labs, he has also been wrapping up some work he did at Penn during graduate school. Ironically, he found out that his second paper had been accepted for publication on the day that I went into labor with Miles. He found out after Miles was born and said it was really funny because usually that would have made him smile for days, but Miles was SO much better and cooler than getting a paper published. Take that SCIENCE--my baby is cooler than you! Anyway, Bart has one more paper from his Penn days awaiting approval and then he will be able to focus completely on his new work at Emory. When I was a child, I had a glowworm:

I know this is kind of a post about me, but this is the cutest picture of Miles smiling with his mommy and it makes me so happy that I'm going to post it! (Particularly since it is a picture of me post-delivery that actually looks pretty decent.) Don't forget to scroll down to see the post below about Miles's first walk.

Yes, we have become those people who only post about their child(ren). Luckily, he is so adorable that there are tons of cute things to blog about. Below is a picture of Miles on his first walk outside. You might think that he didn't like it based on the look he is giving, but he totally loved it--so much that he fell sound asleep, which made his parents REALLY love it.
