This is the project my mom and I have been working on during the past week--painting the nursery! It was really fun to have my mom here to share in the excitement. During the first few days of her stay, we had a really hard time choosing what bedding we wanted and eventually decided that Bart and I would rather have an interesting room than just some cheesy animal print bedding, so we went with painting the wall argyle and looking for plain white bedding. All four walls were painted a light gray, and then we chose the two colors in the argyle pattern based on inspiration from this painting we got in Philadelphia (the lighting is a little off and if you can't tell what the painting is, it's a parent holding a child--TENDER!)

And so the taping began...

We need to put in the dotted/dashed line that will cross the diamonds, but we're still trying to figure out how to make a stencil that won't mess up what we've already done. We're pretty excited about the way it turned out so far!

Now just search with the keyword "awesome." (And the filters "female" and "25-34.")

Katie does many things very, very well. (It gets embarrassing sometimes, all the ways she outdoes me. But that's the price I pay for marrying up, I suppose.) Among her many talents, Katie cooks delicious food. And yet transcendent among her culinary achievements is one proficiency which eclipses the simple appellation "cook." She's a maven. A virtuoso. She is an artist of consummate skill -- and her especial medium is mayo:

Egg salad
Pasta salad
Tartar sauce
Potato salad
Deviled eggs
Suddenly Salad
Olive loaf
Chicken salad
Chicken salad
(the chicken salad is so good it deserves two entries)
