I was reading about fingernails falling off while I was at work. Someone mentioned a Nail Fairy. I'm assuming this is like the Tooth Fairy. If so, I would like to put in my request to the Nail Fairy.
Dear Nail Fairy,
Please be sure to visit my house and leave something under my pillow in exchange for my nail that will probably fall off in a few weeks.
I like chocolate and money.
Your friend,

Umm...yuck. Have you seen the pictures of that nail? (See posts below.) It's one thing when it's attached to you -- but detached? No offense, but I'm not sure I want that floating around freely in my bed. Can it be mailed to the nail fairy instead?
It can be mailed, but I will request double payment to cover the postage :-)
P.S. I know what kids these days charge. Inflation is tough!
Last time Brynn lost a tooth she swallowed it and the Tooth Fairy still brought her a gold coin. You could try that, Katie and see where it gets you.
Let me know how the loosing of the nail goes. When Syd's fell off last year it was pretty gross. I had to help it out and yank it off. Yuck-y!
There are some really cute "tooth boxes" that you leave your tooth in next to your bed. That's a nice option for those who don't enjoy sleeping with an old fallen nail that's seen better days. Unfortunately, I've never seen a "fingernail box" before.
Mindy's "swallow it" comment is still in my head. And may soon end up in a barf-bag. Gross!!! If you DO swallow it, please don't tell us about it. :) Also, I'm so sorry you may lose that once-pretty nail. I hope the Nail Fairy brings you lots of goodies.
