It's been a long time since Bart and I have put anything on our blog, but we've been really busy lately. I read a lot of blogs at work and know that is the excuse everyone uses, but this time it is actually true! We have been on the go since the first week in November. I won't bore you with words; I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. The first several are from our "work" trip to Atlanta and the next group is from our FUN trip to Shreveport, Louisiana where we celebrated my Granny's 80th birthday (doesn't she look fabulous!) and my 26th birthday.
Bart's first Southern Barbeque. Delicious!
Another reason to name our future child Ebenezer--it is the name of the church that Martin Luther King, Jr., um, I'm not sure actually. It was some church that was significant to him and we saw it on our tour of the MLK Jr. Historical Site.
The house where MLK Jr. spent the first 12 years of his life.
The TWO free Reese's we got out of the vending machine. Sucker! We even made 10 cents on the transaction. Finally, the vending machine gods have paid us back!!
Bart's first trip to Luby's my favorite restaurant as a child.
Another of us eating--this time it was authentic Louisiana fried catfish. Yummmmmm...
Me and my homemade (by Bart) pazooki (not sure on the spelling!)
Us at Posadas for my birthday dinner.
Granny's dock to the bayou. So fun!
Bart feeding the ducks--a treasured adventure of little Katie.
Playing with some of my toys at Granny's. Bart didn't like it too much because I was kind of bossy--but I told him that made it an authentic experience!
An inside joke with Granny--mmmm... SnowBalls!
Our last out-to-eat adventure--Copelands--authentic Southern food.
Us girls.

Yayy for posts! Looks like a good time. Also a delicious time. And according to my clock, I am actually posting a comment before you posted your post. Take that father time...or grandpa clock...or whoever is in charge of time.
What a fun time! Thanks for the pictures so I can see what it's like there. Granny ages beautifully, I wouldn't believe she's 80. It looks like Katie doesn't need to worry about having more birthdays.
What? No picture of us staying up till 3 a.m. working on the scrapbook? Or cooking that wonderful Thanksgiving dinner? Looks like all we did was eat...hmm, I guess that's kind of true. YAY for good ol' southern cooking.
Yay for a new post. Thanks for showing us all of those awesome pictures (and awesome dishes). And boo-on-you for making me so jealous I could cry! ;) Really though... send some bayou my way!
See you guys SOOOOOON!
Looks like you guys had a ton of fun.Granny's B-day cake was awesome!
