Yesterday we went to see a mandala made by a Tibetan monk. You know, a mandala -- a "painting" made from colored sand, which they spend two weeks building and then destroy, to illustrate and then demonstrate the circle of life. We actually got to put a few of the colored grains of sand in the painting while the monks looked on in awe. heehee. Not really. But it was pretty sweet. The display was in an Episcopal Cathedral right next door to my beloved place of employment. I took these pictures with my camera when the monks weren't looking (just kidding again--man, you're gullible).
If you are interested in seeing the progression of the artist's work, here's the link. It takes a while to load, so be patient--like a monk.

That's awesome, especially the few grains you added. I could actually see them! Just kidding. We're not the only gullible ones.
You changed your blog! It looks poopy... and by poopy, I mean good! :) Also, the mandala looks awesome. I'll bet that was fun to see. AND I didn't believe you (I read too fast)... but I did think of mancala when I saw the title, so I was expecting a game of sorts. [Not gullible, just a littlb bit dumb.] lol. Good post.
By the way, Bart, your picture nearly made me gag... really. Ew.
I hate to admit it, but I once waited a week to sweep under the "kids table" in the kitchen, and I think my children were secretly trying to make one of those monk pictures out of small crumbs from each meal. It looked almost exactly the same as your photos, except with toast, macaroni, froot loop colored grains!
Reminds me of the mandala poster you gave me. I tried to find it online but it doesn't seem to be available anymore. Very cool. Wish I could have seen it.
