Happy half birthday Miles-poo! You are so dang adorable that I can hardly stand it. You rang in the new year by celebrating your six-month birthday on January 1, 2012. You accomplished a lot leading up to this moment. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

He eventually learned to be excited about what was inside the present, not just the wrapping paper and bows.
Hanging out with Papa like a big boy.

These next two are of him playing in Toys R Us.

He liked looking out the window of the airplane. Must get that from his dad.

He met his baby cousin Elli for the first time. They were fast friends. He can't wait to see her again in April!
 Helping us pack.
Miles got two front teeth for Christmas (there is only one in this picture):

First Christmas with Santa.

Four generations:

I know you don't believe it, but my baby is soooo advanced.

Also, I think I'm scared that Bart is encouraging the endeavor seen below. But Miles is just so proud of himself that it makes me too happy to stop him!

He's been pretty worn out from the traveling and 6-month shots. Here's a picture of him sleeping in church. Maybe they should just call him to be a high priest.

**heart melting**

Just a video this time--and while I think Miles is pretty awesome in it, my singing is not quite as amazing. In case you would like to know the background on the songs, Bart and I made up both of them, and they seem to be the best thing to distract Miles when he is fussy. For Halloween, Miles was a super hero named Napping Baby, which was the inspiration for the song Bart made up to the tune of "B-I-N-G-O." The first song is the one I made up one day after we were substitutes in Primary. It goes to the tune "Scripture Power."

And what a happy five months it has been! Here are some pictures of the things Miles has been up to lately. He has learned the following...

how to play in the couch cushions:

how to celebrate Thanksgiving:

I think Thanksgiving will forever be Miles's holiday. He got TWO little turkey outfits--one from his favorite Nana and Papa, and one from his favorite aunt and uncle (we do accept bribes!) Thanks guys!

How to enjoy balloons:

how to try new foods (squash and carrots):

 how to open presents:

 how to make a mess:

 how to celebrate my birthday!

how to use tools:

Miles was helping Bart and I put up our newly made headboard. He loved the level--I think because it wasn't too heavy and fit perfectly in his little fingers. Below is a picture of the headboard. We still don't have matching bedding, but we are working on that. When my mom was here in October, we made this headboard--I know, pretty awesome, huh?! It only took Bart and I a month to get it hung on the wall. It sure is cool to have a headboard that is the right size for the mattress--and it's padded no less! We love how the whole project turned out. I'll take better pictures once we get the room completed. For now, just enjoy the adorable reindeer and awesome headboard--both of which we made. hahaha!
