Miles has had a busy seventh month of life. He has learned how to be VERY mobile and by extension seems to feel somewhat liberated. He can get to his toys without help; he can crawl, sit, and pull to standing all by himself. And what's more, he can get into mischief all by himself. What fun for everyone! Other wonderful things he has accomplished is sleeping through the night--what I consider through the night--meaning like 12 hours at a time without needing to eat. IT IS GLORIOUS.

He loves "running" through the house nudey-tudey (or bare-buttsky) depending on which side of the family you're from. He also enjoys banging things together to make noise--this week it was our metal measuring cups. My favorite thing that he has learned is how to shriek. We alternate with each other making shrieking noises, which he thinks is hilarious. He shrieks the most when he is super excited about something, ie, getting naked. (Notice a trend?) He is a wonderful little boy and a joy to be around. We love him so much!

He hadn't ever seen cartoons, so one day during breakfast I decided to expose him to some culture--the Care Bears.

I got a sewing machine from my parents for Christmas and the first thing I wanted to make was a simple quilt for Miles. We went to the fabric store and he helped me pick out the fabric. He immediately loved it when I put it in front of him and he used his thumb to point at it over and over again, which he does when he is really interested in a toy or something new. After I showed him a few other fabric options and he barely looked at them, I showed him this fabric again, and he got super excited and smiled and jabbed his thumb on it again. I knew this was the fabric for him! Below is a video of us giving him his new quilt. I think he liked it quite a bit and gets super excited any time we pull it out for him to play on. Makes me feel pretty awesome!

Good job, Mom! Looks like it's a complete success...fun to look at, great to crawl on, and perfect to lay his head.

He's very mobile for his age, isn't he? (I'm pretty sure my kiddos didn't move that much yet.) Little genious. Must be all that fresh air... on his bum. :) And I love the quilt! Good work, momma!

He DOES love that quilt! Nice work, Katie. That's so fun that he "picked" his favorite fabric too.
