We were reflecting on the past week and realized there are so many things that we would have missed out on if we still lived in Utah. Here they are, in no particular order:
7. Katie wouldn't have seen a 25-year-old-not-homeless dude peeing inside the lobby of a nice high rise (where our dentist office is)
6. We wouldn't have heard the screaming and fireworks from our front door after the last strike was called and the Phillies won the World Series
5. We wouldn't have witnessed people celebrating the Phillies victory by rioting in the streets, turning over cars, and breaking storefront windows
4. If Katie hadn't worked at an ophthalmology department, we wouldn't have gotten these new glasses3. Katie couldn't have named her pumpkin witch Scaggsville in honor of a nearby town
2. We couldn't have blamed our sad looking biscuits on the oven (thanks for the recipe Mindy--they were delicious!)
1. We wouldn't have been involved in a hit and run on the way home from work

So... all things considered, I think you should move back.
(You know you want to; quit fooling yourselves.) ;)
Ummm. . . I am left a little speechless after your top 7 list. What are WE doing still living in Cache Valley. Your life sounds lots more exciting than ours.
What I'm really thinking: "Is is Christmas yet? I miss those two big-city folk".
Hit and run? Are you okay? What happened? Now hang on a second...you didn't say which side of the hit and run incident you were involved in. Are you so hardened and jaded from all your big city livin' that you would do that to someone?
You can now add number 8 on your list. I hope you didn't experience this one....."run into a black panther with a night stck outside your voting place in Philly". (just saw that one on the news) Happy Voting!!!!
ha ha ha! Man, isn't my Granny the best Granny EVER?! Hilarious. No, thankfully we didn't encounter anything crazy while we were voting--that happened at our old apartment.
As for the hit-and-run, we, unfortunately, were the victims. Yes, we are okay. Our car now has a scrape allowing the left side to match the previous one we got on the right side. And, Mindy, we miss all of you too! 51 more days til San Diego!
I'm glad for your sake that the voting went fine at the new location. But I was curious whether or not your complaints made a difference at the old location. Any Obama winning riots to match the Phillies winning riots?
As far as we know, the complaints from our last voting experience made no difference at the old location -- but we also didn't go hang out there to see what it would be like. Go to this link to see video of the nightstick-brandishing black panther that was intimidating voters elsewhere in Philly on election day: http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/11/04/black-panther-brandishing-nightstick-stationed-at-polling-place-in-philly/
And no, to my great surprise, I did not hear anything about Obama-celebrating riots. They must have been all rioted-out from the multiple nights of Phillies celebrations.
